1- La deuda se ha normalizado en nuestra cultura

• Romanos 12:2 NVI “No se amolden al mundo actual, sino sean transformados mediante la renovación de su mente. Así podrán comprobar cuál es la voluntad de Dios, buena, agradable y perfecta.”
• Romans 12:2 NIV Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

2- ¿Qué dice la Biblia acerca de la deuda?

• Deuteronomio 15:6 LBLA “Pues el SEÑOR tu Dios te bendecirá como te ha prometido, y tú prestarás a muchas naciones, pero tú no tomarás prestado; y tendrás dominio sobre muchas naciones, pero ellas no tendrán dominio sobre ti”.
• Deuteronomy 15:6 NIV For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.

• Proverbios 22:7 LBLA “El rico domina a los pobres, y el deudor es esclavo del acreedor.”
• Proverbs 22:7 NIV The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.

• Romanos 13:8 NVI “No tengan deudas pendientes con nadie, a no ser la de amarse unos a otros. De hecho, quien ama al prójimo ha cumplido la ley.”

3. Las deudas se deben pagar

4. ¿Qué es un compromiso financiero?

• 2 Reyes 4:1-7 NTV “Cierto día, la viuda de un miembro del grupo de profetas fue a ver a Eliseo y clamó: -Mi esposo, quien te servía, ha muerto, y tú sabes cuánto él temía al SEÑOR; pero ahora ha venido un acreedor y me amenaza con llevarse a mis dos hijos como esclavos. ¿Cómo puedo ayudarte? -preguntó Eliseo-. Dime, ¿qué tienes en tu casa? No tengo nada, solo un frasco de aceite de oliva -contestó ella. Entonces Eliseo le dijo: -Pídeles a tus amigos y vecinos que te presten todas las jarras vacías que puedan. Luego ve a tu casa con tus hijos y cierra la puerta. Vierte en las jarras el aceite de oliva que tienes en tu frasco y cuando se llenen ponlas a un lado. Entonces ella hizo lo que se le indicó. Sus hijos le traían las jarras y ella las llenaba una tras otra. [6] ¡Pronto todas las jarras estaban llenas hasta el borde! -Tráeme otra jarra -le dijo a uno de sus hijos. -¡Ya no hay más! -le respondió. Al instante, el aceite de oliva dejó de fluir. Cuando ella le contó al hombre de Dios lo que había sucedido, él le dijo: Ahora vende el aceite de oliva y paga tus deudas; tú y tus hijos pueden vivir de lo que sobre.”
• 2 Kings 4:1-7 NIV The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.” She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left”.
